Janet Rice, Owner & Founder Jane & Coco

Janet Rice is a creative maverick, serial entrepreneur and lover of fashion, interiors and all things beautiful. She is first generation Cuban American born in San Antonio, Texas - which explains her spirited personality and true love of the island life.
Janet is the founder of Jane and Coco and Janet Rice Interiors. A graduate of Boston College, Janet began her career at Macy’s prestigious Executive Training program, from Macy’s she moved onto Bloomingdales as a buyer in the children’s department. After several years in the retail world, Janet was offered the coveted position of Interiors Editor at Family Circle. After a decade as an editor and stylist in New York City, Janet moved to Dallas where she worked as a freelance stylist and Contributing Editor for D Home and Garden. In 2001, Janet designed and launched her own line of vibrant floor pillows and home decorative accessories, Jane and Coco. In 2002, Janet’s career move into design paid off when Jane and Coco received the prestigious Rising Star Award from The Fashion Group International. After years of working with a wide range of interiors, it was only natural that Janet would launch her own firm and in 2009 Janet Rice Interiors was officially open for business.

Janet’s experience as a home editor, stylist and home decorative accessories designer all enhance the unique sense of creativity and style that sets Janet apart. In June of 2020, Janet returned to her retail roots and opened an island inspired boutique, naming it Jane and Coco, a respectful nod to her first design endeavor. Jane and Coco opened its doors in the middle of a global pandemic in hopes of keeping the spirit of travel, style, sunshine and sheer grit of entrepreneurship alive. Jane and Coco reinvented the luxury retail experience by offering private appointments only. Clients receive seasonal invitations to shop the latest collections and have access to the ultimate shopping experience in a beautiful interior space, with exceptional attention to detail, amazing customer service and absolute privacy- a luxury in today’s world.
Janet’s approach towards fashion, style, design and life is constantly refreshed by her international travels, eclectic circle of friends and

family and her active involvement in the design and arts community. She spends her time between Dallas, New York City and the West Indies where she lives with her husband, two children and three island dogs.
